College Applications: Seniors should apply now to the college they plan to attend if they haven’t already done so. Refer to the website of the college(s) of your choice for important deadlines.

LOSFA/FAFSA: The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) suggests that all seniors complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Seniors are encouraged to file the FAFSA via the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA is the application for both federal and state programs, including TOPS. WARNING: entering the website as fafsa.com will take you to a fee-charging website; don’t pay for a service that is free at fafsa.ed.gov!

The FAFSA application must be received by July 1st for students to receive TOPS funding for the upcoming college academic year. Submission of the FAFSA by April 15th would be an ideal goal. 

NCAA Clearinghouse: Seniors who wish to participate in college athletics should complete the NCAA Clearinghouse forms at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net. Any prospective NCAA participant should send his/her ACT scores directly to NCAA Clearinghouse by listing Code 9999 in box “O” of the ACT application or by completing an additional score report request (ASR) from ACT at www.actstudent.org.
