About Silliman

Silliman Institute is a private, coeducational Christian school located in Clinton, LA. For over 50 years Silliman has educated the children of East Feliciana and surrounding parishes. There are currently over 600 students in Daycare-12th Grade enrolled in Silliman.

The original school, constructed in 1852 by Mr. William Silliman, operated under the name of Silliman Female College and later Silliman Collegiate Institute. For over 75 years women from the Felicianas and beyond were provided a top-notch education from one of the most prominent educational institutions in the south. In 1965 a group of local citizens organized into the Silliman Private School Corporation to open Silliman Institute as it is known today.

Silliman offers a college preparatory curriculum with over 14 junior varsity and varsity sports, academic and extracurricular clubs, and regular chapel services for students. Silliman Institute maintains approval by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and is accredited by the Mid-South Association of Independent schools and Cognia.

Silliman Institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or disability in admissions to, or treatment in, its programs and activities.
