Mission:

Rooted in faith, grounded in tradition, and looking towards the future.

About:

Silliman Institute is a private, coeducational Christian school located in the heart of Clinton, Louisiana. For over 50 years, Silliman has proudly educated the children of East Feliciana and surrounding parishes. Today, our campus has more than 600 students enrolled in daycare through 12th grade.

Our team offers a college preparatory curriculum with over 14 junior varsity and varsity sports, academic and extracurricular clubs, and regular chapel services for our students. Silliman Institute maintains approval by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and is accredited by the Mid-South Association of Independent schools and Cognia.

History:

The original school, constructed in 1852 by Mr. William Silliman, operated under the name of Silliman Female College and later Silliman Collegiate Institute. For more than 75 years, women throughout the Feliciana parishes and beyond were provided a top-notch education from one of the most prominent educational institutions in the South. In 1965, a group of local citizens organized into the Silliman Private School Corporation to re-open Silliman Institute as it is known today.

Alma Mater:

Hail to thee Silliman, All Silliman, all hail
In East Feliciana, Louisiana
Towering towards the sky
Proudly has stood our dear old Silliman,
Since eighteen fifty-two has gone by
Staunch and stalwart are her timbers,
She shall conquer and prevail
All to thee Silliman, All Silliman, all hail.
